Fast, Accurate, Reliable Eye Tracking


Magnetoencephalography (MEG) measures the magnetic fields produced by electrical activity in the brain. As neuronal fields are mildly magnetic, MEG systems need to be extremely sensitive to measure them, meaning they are easily influenced by electrical sources nearby. An electromagnetic minimized eye tracker is necessary so that artefacts are not introduced into the MEG recordings.

SR Research is pleased to announce the availability of an EyeLink 1000 Plus system for use in MRI environments with the following characteristics:
  • non-ferromagnetic optimized design
  • up to 2000 Hz sampling rate; up to 1000 Hz binocular
  • down to 0.01º RMS spatial resolution
  • real-time eye position access <1.7 msec (SD < 0.3 msec) @ 2000 Hz
  • supports Camera-to-eye distances of 60 - 150 cm
  • multiple purpose system can be used in MEG and also non-MEG environments.
  • fiber optic camera can be used will all 5 EyeLink 1000 Plus mounting options.
The EyeLink 1000 Plus Fiber Optic camera and Long Range Mount can be affixed to the bottom of a projector screen or mounted on a tripod. Given the variability in MEG set-ups, please contact us with your MEG room details so that we can provide more input as to the possible mounting options for your situation.

  • EyeLink 1000 Plus Core System (ELP-STD-CORE or ELP-LAP-CORE)
    The Core System is the heart of the EyeLink 1000 Plus system's extendible modular design. The core system includes the standard EyeLink 1000 Plus High-speed Camera, a Host Computer with Monitor, the EyeLink Software Development Kit, 24 month hardware warranty and perpetual technical support.
  • Long Range Optics for MEG / MRI (ELP-FOC-UP)
    Upgrades the standard EyeLink 1000 Plus camera to the miniature Fiber Optic camera head.
  • EyeLink 1000 Plus Long Range Mount (ELP-LRO-89)
    Non-ferromagnetic optimized design. Supports eye to camera distances between 60 and 150cm.
  • Screen Mount for use with MEG(SR-LR-SM)
    Includes mount and hardware to affix ELP-FOC-UP and ELP-LRO-89 to Projection Screens with frame.
  • 35, 50, 75 mm lenses for MEG(ELP-MEG-LS)
    Lenses for use with MEG long range system. Three lenses for distances between 60 and 150 cm.

Other Common Options

  • Analog Output Card (EL-ANL)
    A 16 bit analog output card for your host computer allows x,y eye position and pupil size data to be streamed as voltages to be used by other devices. The hard real-time image processing and data output capabilities of the EyeLink system are utilized to produce less than 40 usec (0.04 msec) of inter-sample jitter.
  • 2000 Hz Camera Upgrade (ELP-2K-UP)
    Upgrading the EyeLink 1000 Plus camera to 2000 Hz provides the world's fastest sample rate and access time. This upgrade also enables 1000 Hz recording of each eye when recording binocularly.
  • SR Research Experiment Builder and Data Viewer Software Bundle (EL-DVEB)
    Experiment Builder and Data Viewer enable easy implementation of most experimental paradigms and provide simple access to the features of the EyeLink eye tracker.
  • Battery Box Option for MEG (SR-BTRY)
    Powers camera and Illumination. 6 hour run time. 8 - 12 hour charge time to 100% capacity. Includes two battery boxes, cabling and charger. For use in MEG chamber.
